Gates 24746 Lower Radiator Molded Coolant Hose

The Gates 24746 is a precision-molded lower radiator coolant hose engineered to provide OEM-quality cooling system performance and reliability. This replacement hose is designed to fit specific vehicle applications with exact specifications for proper installation and long-lasting durability.

Advanced EPDM Construction:

• EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber tube engineered to resist electrochemical degradation, the leading cause of coolant hose failure
• Synthetic fiber knit reinforcement provides superior strength and burst resistance
• Heat and ozone-resistant EPDM cover protects against harsh under-hood conditions
• Pre-shaped design ensures proper fit and perfectly sealed connections

Technical Specifications:

• Meets SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 performance standards
• Temperature range: -40°F to +275°F (-40°C to +135°C)
• Approved for marine applications
• Re-engineered materials resist vacuum collapse, reducing the need for internal support springs

Superior ECD Resistance:

Electrochemical degradation occurs when coolant hoses, liquid coolant, and metal fittings form a galvanic cell that creates micro-cracks in the hose tube. Gates addresses this with specially formulated EPDM compounds that provide superior electrochemical resistance, extending hose life and preventing costly breakdowns. This molded coolant hose delivers reliable performance for upper, lower, bypass, heater, and other cooling system applications.

Note: Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed for optimal sealing performance.
