Kumho Wintercraft SUV Ice WS31 Studdable Winter Tire

The Kumho Wintercraft SUV Ice WS31 is a studdable winter radial tire engineered specifically for SUVs, CUVs, and crossovers that demand confident, reliable performance in severe winter conditions. Built around Kumho's advanced compound and tread innovations, the WS31 delivers superior grip, braking, and handling on ice, packed snow, and wet winter roads.

Key Features:

• Studdable Tread Design: Pre-drilled stud pockets allow optional metal studs to be installed where permitted by law, providing maximum ice and snow traction for the harshest winter conditions.
• 3D Honeycomb Sipe Technology: Enhances grip on ice and snow without compromising dry handling, while strengthening block rigidity for improved handling and ice braking performance.
• Turbine Blade Stud Pockets: Rapidly evacuates ice dust and powder from around each stud pocket, maintaining consistent stud contact and traction performance throughout the tire's life.
• Optimized Directional Groove Design: Efficiently channels water, slush, and melting snow away from the contact patch to significantly reduce the risk of hydroplaning.
• Asymmetric Sipes: Create maximum biting edges across the tread face to improve traction and braking performance on ice- and snow-covered surfaces.
• Advanced Winter Compound: Formulated with Kumho's latest mixing technology to remain pliable and grippy in extreme cold temperatures, preventing the loss of traction that affects harder all-season compounds.
• Computer-Optimized Tread Pattern: Works in concert with the directional design to minimize road noise and vibrations, delivering a comfortable, composed ride on winter roads.
• Rim Protector (Select Sizes): Certain sizes include a rim protector molded into the sidewall to help guard wheels from curb damage.

The Wintercraft SUV Ice WS31 carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certification, confirming it meets recognized severe snow service requirements. The tire's studdable construction lets drivers tailor their winter setup — run the WS31 without studs for everyday winter use, or add studs for maximum ice grip in the most demanding conditions.
