Beck/Arnley 159-1020 Idle Air Control Valve

The Beck/Arnley 159-1020 Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) regulates engine idle speed by controlling the amount of air that bypasses the throttle plate. This valve works in conjunction with the engine control unit to maintain smooth, consistent idle performance under varying load conditions such as when the air conditioning is engaged or during cold starts.

Key Features:

• Direct-fit replacement for specific import vehicle applications
• Meets foreign nameplate OE specifications for form, fit, and function
• Helps maintain proper idle speed and prevent stalling
• Controls airflow to stabilize engine RPM at idle
• Sourced through Beck/Arnley's global OE supplier network

When the idle air control valve fails, symptoms typically include erratic idle speed, stalling when coming to a stop, or idle RPM that's too high or too low. This component is essential for smooth engine operation and drivability, particularly in stop-and-go traffic conditions.
