The Sumitomo HTR Z5 is an ultra high performance summer tire designed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes, and performance sedans seeking responsive high-speed handling and reliable traction in warm, dry, and wet conditions. An aggressive summer compound is molded into an asymmetric five-rib tread pattern that delivers exceptional grip and performance.

Key Features:

  • Continuous center rib enhances stability and steering response, while substantial shoulders improve lateral grip
  • Four wide circumferential grooves and lateral shoulder grooves evacuate standing water for superior hydroplaning resistance
  • Internal construction includes a nylon casing with two steel belts, spiral wound nylon cap layer, and a hard apex that strengthens the shoulder and sidewall
  • Increased shoulder and contact patch puts more rubber on the road to boost handling capabilities
  • Tread pitch is randomized and computer tuned to help keep road noise to a minimum

The HTR Z5 is stable at high speeds and delivers cornering, braking, and steering response performance at nearly racetrack levels, while maintaining comfortable and quiet highway behavior with good isolation of road bumps. Like all ultra high performance summer tires, the HTR Z5 is not intended to be serviced, stored, or driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow, or on ice.
