Furuno FM-4850 Black Box VHF Marine Radio with GPS, AIS, DSC and Loudhailer

The Furuno FM-4850 is a compact Black Box VHF radiotelephone that combines five essential marine communication and safety functions into one powerful unit. Featuring built-in Class D DSC, AIS Receiver, GPS capability, and a simplified Loud Hailer with intercom, this versatile radio is ideal for vessels where space is limited, including center-console boats and fishing vessels.

Integrated Communication and Navigation Features:

• 25-watt VHF radiotelephone with Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) for emergency and routine calling
• Built-in AIS Receiver displays vessel traffic when networked with compatible chart plotters and MFDs
• Internal GPS receiver (requires optional external GPS antenna such as GPA017)
• 30-watt Loud Hailer with 8 alert sound patterns, fog horn, and warning signals
• Multi-station intercom capability supports up to 3 stations with optional HS4800A remote handsets
• Listen Back function uses horn speaker to capture external sounds for deck-to-bridge communication

Advanced Network Integration:

The FM-4850 shares GPS, DSC, and AIS information via NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 networks. When connected to NavNet TZtouch2 MFDs, you can initiate DSC calls directly from the touchscreen by tapping AIS targets. The unit automatically enters distress mode when MOB (Man Overboard) is activated on compatible displays, allowing emergency calls with a single button press.

Rugged Marine Construction:

• IP67 waterproof rating on transceiver, handset, and speaker components
• Compact black box design installs in tight spaces
• Robust metal housing withstands harsh marine environments
• Handset styling matches Furuno NavNet TZtouch2, NavPilot 711C, and FI70 Instrument series for integrated helm appearance
• Remote handsets connect up to 30 meters from main unit

The FM-4850 delivers professional-grade marine communication with the flexibility to expand as your needs grow, making it an ideal choice for recreational boaters, fishing vessels, and commercial workboats.
