Product Details

The Continental ContiSportContact 5 SSR is a high performance summer run-flat tire designed for passenger vehicles and sports cars. This tire serves as original equipment on select BMW vehicle models, combining maximum performance with extended mobility protection.

Black Chili Technology:

The tire combines Continental's Black Chili compound and asymmetric tread design to boost dry and wet weather grip. Stronger compound elements effectively prevent heat build-up across the tread area, while optimal surface contact firmly grips the road. The new BlackChilli compound delivers excellent grip with lower rolling resistance.

Run-Flat Capability:

The tire features SSR (Self Supporting Runflat) Technology with reinforced sidewalls that provide temporary restricted mobility for 50 miles at up to 50 mph after air pressure loss. This allows you to reach a service facility safely without needing to change the tire roadside.

Performance Features:

  • Circumferential grooves disperse water from the footprint to help avoid hydroplaning in wet conditions
  • Shorter braking distances in adverse weather and poor driving conditions
  • Excellent handling in dry and wet conditions with a smooth, quiet ride
  • Decreased rolling resistance minimizes the vehicle's fuel intake and CO2 emissions

Important Note: This summer tire is not recommended for winter use, as colder temperatures cause the tire to lose its road gripping ability, resulting in unsafe driving conditions.
