About Performance Friction (PFC Brakes)
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Clover, South Carolina, Performance Friction Corporation — better known throughout the motorsports world as PFC Brakes — has spent four decades engineering some of the most advanced braking systems on the planet. What began with a NASCAR win in 1984 has grown into a globally recognized brand trusted by professional racing teams, OEM vehicle manufacturers, and performance enthusiasts across virtually every form of motorsport.
Unlike many brake suppliers that source components from disparate manufacturers, Performance Friction designs and produces its entire braking ecosystem in-house. Brake pads, rotors, calipers, and fluid all come from a single 200,000-square-foot, 400-plus-employee facility in South Carolina, ensuring every component is engineered to work seamlessly with the others. That commitment to vertical integration is a cornerstone of what makes PFC products stand apart from the competition.
A Complete Braking System, Built for Extremes
At the heart of the PFC lineup are its Disc Brake Pad Sets, offered in a wide range of proprietary compounds — from the legendary CarbonMetallic® formulations used in professional endurance racing to Z-rated street and fast-road compounds. These pads are engineered for consistent bite, fade resistance, and predictable pedal feel whether you're lapping a circuit or driving hard on a mountain road.
Paired with PFC's Disc Brake Rotors, the system becomes even more capable. Performance Friction's proprietary V3 ZeroFailures™ disc technology features industry-leading mounting designs that minimize thermal deformation — a critical factor during sustained high-speed braking. Two-piece rotor assemblies promote superior heat dissipation compared to conventional one-piece designs, extending service life and maintaining consistent performance lap after lap.
Completing the system, PFC's Disc Brake Calipers are built around a stiff monobloc design incorporating innovative rocket nozzle insulators and superior piston caps. The result is a caliper that remains consistently rigid across the full operating temperature range — something that directly translates to a firmer, more predictable pedal. For those replacing or upgrading mounting hardware, PFC also offers Disc Brake Caliper Brackets machined to the same exacting tolerances as the rest of the system.
Rounding out the lineup is PFC's purpose-formulated Brake Fluid. The flagship RH665 DOT 4 racing fluid boasts one of the highest guaranteed minimum dry boiling points of any DOT 4 fluid on the market, engineered to guard against vapor lock and deliver a rock-hard pedal even under extreme racing conditions — while remaining fully street legal.
Motorsports Heritage, Street-Ready Performance
PFC brakes have competed and won across NASCAR, INDYCAR, GT endurance racing, open-wheel formula cars, and motorcycle championships worldwide. But the brand's technology doesn't stay locked away on the race track — the same engineering philosophy and manufacturing processes flow directly into products designed for passenger cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, and off-highway applications. For drivers who refuse to compromise on braking performance, Performance Friction delivers race-proven solutions for every environment.
