The Genuine 1298201356 is an OEM center high mount stop light designed specifically for Mercedes-Benz R129 SL-Class vehicles. This third brake light fits 1996-2002 model years, including the SL320, SL500, and SL600 models. This center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL) is required by law in the United States and serves as a critical safety component.

Key Features:

• Complete assembly includes plastic lens and electronics with bulb housing
• Genuine Mercedes-Benz OEM part ensuring perfect fit and function
• Mounts at the top of the trunk lid and illuminates when brakes are applied
• Features red lens matching factory brake light color
• Direct replacement for worn or failed third brake lights

The CHMSL serves as a signal to drivers behind you when they may not be able to see either of your vehicle's tail lights, providing an additional level of safety. This genuine Mercedes-Benz component restores proper brake light functionality and maintains your vehicle's OEM specifications. If your third brake light doesn't work anymore and your brake light red lens is still in good shape, this can replace the failed rear lamp.
