Genuine 12 90 7 531 783 E-Box Cooling Fan for BMW DME

The Genuine BMW 12907531783 E-Box Cooling Fan is a blower motor designed specifically for the control unit housing, commonly known as the E-Box. This fan feeds air to the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) cooling shroud to prevent DME overheating, which can cause failure.

Critical Function:

If this blower fan fails, your vehicle could experience faulty wiring, faulty error codes, and even melting of the electrical system. A faulty E-Box fan can cause the vehicle to go into limp mode after 15-30 minutes of driving, but installing a new fan remedies these issues.

Key Features:

• Genuine BMW OEM part ensures proper fit and function
• Direct replacement for worn or failed E-Box cooling fans
• Provides electric cooling to the control unit housing
• Eliminates scraping or humming noise under the left side of instrument panel
• Variable speed operation controlled by the DME
• Prevents DME overheating and subsequent electrical failures

Common Symptoms of Failure:

• E-Box fan fault code (often code 8F)
• Scraping or humming noise from driver's side footwell
• Vehicle entering limp mode during extended driving
• DME overheating warnings

This genuine BMW part meets all original equipment specifications and includes BMW's factory warranty. The E-Box fan is located under the instrument panel on the left side near the firewall, and replacement requires removal of the E-Box cover to access the fan assembly.
