Genuine 996-201-221-07 Fuel Vapor Canister with ORVR

The Genuine 996-201-221-07 is a factory OEM fuel vapor canister designed as a direct replacement for Porsche 911 and Boxster models. This activated carbon-filled canister is an essential component of the vehicle's evaporative emission control system, preventing harmful fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere.

Key Features:

• Equipped with ORVR (Onboard Refueling Vapor Recovery) system for enhanced emission control during refueling
• Activated carbon element captures and stores fuel vapors from the fuel tank
• Integrates with the engine management system to purge stored vapors into the intake manifold for combustion
• Genuine Porsche OEM quality ensures precise fitment and reliable performance
• Replaces part numbers 996-201-221-06 and 99620122106

The vapor canister works continuously to absorb fuel vapors during normal operation and refueling events. When engine conditions are appropriate, the purge control valve opens to allow manifold vacuum to draw stored vapors from the canister into the engine where they are burned during normal combustion. This process both reduces emissions and recharges the activated carbon for continued vapor storage. A failed vapor canister may trigger a check engine light and cause the vehicle to operate less efficiently while producing higher emissions.

This canister is designed for vehicles equipped with M664 ORVR emission systems. Not for use on GT3 models.
