This transmission oil pan gasket forms a critical seal that prevents costly transmission fluid leaks. Over time, exposure to heat and transmission fluid can cause rubber gaskets to degrade, resulting in seepage or leaks. Replacing a worn or damaged transmission oil pan gasket is essential maintenance that helps protect your transmission from low fluid levels, which can lead to poor shifting performance, slipping, and potential transmission failure. Installation of this gasket is recommended whenever the transmission oil pan is removed for service or fluid changes.
