Standard Motor Products SPP179E Coil On Plug Boot

The Standard Motor Products SPP179E is a replacement coil-on-plug boot designed for vehicles with direct ignition systems. This critical ignition component creates the connection between the ignition coil and spark plug, delivering between 30,000 and 60,000 volts directly to the spark plug thousands of times per minute.

Construction and Materials:

• Manufactured from high-temperature silicone rubber for superior thermal protection
• One-piece molded design for enhanced durability
• Features a flexible, heat-resistant outer cover over a conductive spring
• Includes conductive spring with the boot

Key Features:

• Provides excellent protection against thermal overload
• Protects spark plugs against moisture and contaminants
• Designed to meet or exceed OE specifications for fit, form, and function
• Installs directly between the ignition coil and spark plug

Coil-on-plug boots are exposed to extreme conditions including engine heat, water contamination, fuel and lubricant exposure, and physical abrasion. Standard recommends replacing coil-on-plug boots whenever spark plugs or coils are serviced, or if they become contaminated with oil, water, or coolant, to maintain optimal engine performance and efficiency.
