NGK 24579 Oxygen Sensor 4-Wire Heated Direct Fit Zirconia O2 Sensor

The NGK 24579 oxygen sensor (also called an O2 sensor or lambda sensor) is a direct-fit, heated, switching zirconia sensor. It monitors the oxygen content of the exhaust and sends feedback to the engine computer. The ECU uses that feedback to control the air-fuel ratio, which supports engine performance, fuel efficiency and lower emissions. It also helps the OBD-II system flag problems with fuel delivery or catalytic converter efficiency.

Key Features:

• Switching zirconia, narrow-band sensor design
• Heated element for fast light-off and response
• 4-wire design with a square, female blade-terminal connector
• M18 x 1.5 metric thread with a 7/8" (22mm) hex
• Wiring harness length of about 20 in (505 mm)
• Dual-coated platinum interface and thinner ceramic element for fast response and durability
• Contaminant-resistant plasma jet and deposit trap overcoat on the sensor element
• OE-specified water-resistant connector and harness hardware, so it plugs in directly with no cutting or splicing
• Tested for vibration and thermal shock during OE development, and individually tested in manufacturing
• 1-year limited warranty
