GPD 5811309 #8 A/C Spring Lock Garter Spring Refrigerant Line Coupling

The GPD 5811309 is a #8 size A/C spring lock garter spring designed for use in automotive air conditioning refrigerant line connections. This small but critical component is the retention spring inside the spring lock coupling that keeps the male and female A/C fittings securely connected under system pressure.

How It Works:

The spring lock coupling system uses a circular garter spring housed inside a cage on the male fitting. When the flared end of the female fitting is inserted, the garter spring expands and locks behind the flare, preventing the connection from pulling apart. This OEM-style spring restores the integrity of a worn or damaged coupling without requiring full line replacement.

Key Features:

• Fits #8 size (1/2 in.) spring lock A/C refrigerant line couplings
• Manufactured by GPD (Global Parts Distributors) to OEM specifications
• Restores secure locking function to spring lock refrigerant line couplings
• Helically wound stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance and durability
• Helps prevent refrigerant leaks caused by loose or damaged coupling springs
• Compatible with Ford, GM, Chrysler, and other domestic vehicles using spring lock A/C fittings

The GPD 5811309 is an economical solution for restoring a leaking or disconnected A/C refrigerant line fitting. Replacing a worn garter spring is a straightforward repair that can save the cost of a full hose or line assembly replacement.
