The NGK 48998 COP ignition coil (also called a coil-on-plug ignition coil or coil pack, stock number U5029) is a 12-volt, distributorless replacement coil. It mounts directly on the spark plug and turns battery voltage into the high-voltage spark that ignites the air-fuel mixture. NGK builds its ignition coils to meet or exceed OE standards for durability and performance.

Installation is a direct swap. With the ignition off and the engine cool, remove the old coil and fit the new one onto the spark plug. A weak or failing coil can cause misfires, rough idle and poor fuel economy, and a new coil restores a consistent spark. NGK has made ignition parts for over 80 years and has OE experience in this area.
