Gates 24394 Premium Molded Coolant Hose

The Gates 24394 Premium Molded Coolant Hose is a factory-molded EPDM coolant hose designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications for reliable cooling system performance. This pre-shaped hose is manufactured to fit specific upper, lower, bypass, heater, and other coolant applications, providing a precise OE-quality replacement.

Key Features:

• Engineered to resist electrochemical degradation (ECD), the leading cause of coolant hose failure
• EPDM tube with synthetic fiber knit reinforcement and heat- and ozone-resistant EPDM cover
• Re-engineered materials resist vacuum collapse, reducing the need for internal springs in many applications
• Wide temperature range: -40°F to 275°F (-40°C to 135°C) for demanding coolant applications
• Meets SAE 20R4 and 20R3 Type EC Class D-1 and D-2 specifications
• Approved for marine applications
• Pre-shaped design ensures proper fit and perfectly sealed connections

Gates coolant hoses are built to withstand the harsh conditions of modern cooling systems, including exposure to chemical coolants, heat cycling, and ozone. The advanced EPDM compound prevents the micro-cracking and reinforcement breakdown that occurs when coolant, hose material, and metal fittings create a galvanic reaction. Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed for optimal sealing performance.
