Tekonsha 80550 Pilot Time-Delay Trailer Brake Controller 1-3 Axles

The Tekonsha 80550 Pro Series Pilot is a time-delay electronic trailer brake controller designed for basic, light-duty towing applications with trailers using 1 to 3 axles (2 to 6 brakes). This controller applies braking power that ramps up over a period of time at a fixed rate when you engage your tow vehicle's brakes, providing smooth and controlled trailer braking.

Key Features:

• Time-delayed digital brake controller with adjustable gain control for customized braking intensity
• Large, easy-to-read dual-digit LED display shows voltage output, proper wiring confirmation, and trailer connectivity
• Dark smoke lens ideal for direct light applications, creating optimum visibility in bright conditions
• Flexible mounting options - can be installed in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or upside down) thanks to microprocessor technology
• Manual override lever for immediate trailer brake application when needed
• Plug and Play connection for quick and easy installation with compatible vehicle-specific wiring harness (sold separately)
• LED indicator changes from green to red to show trailer connectivity and power output
• Advanced circuit protection including short circuit protection and loss of ground detection
• Compatible with 12-volt negative ground systems

The Pilot brake controller includes all necessary mounting hardware and comes backed by Tekonsha's limited warranty. Because it's a time-based controller rather than proportional, it can be mounted anywhere within the driver's reach without requiring level installation. Ideal for RV, utility trailer, and light-duty towing applications.
