Product Details

The IAP 211611817A is a brake master cylinder grommet designed to create a reliable seal between the brake fluid reservoir and the master cylinder. This small but critical component ensures proper brake system operation by preventing fluid leaks and keeping contaminants out of the hydraulic system.

Key Features:

  • Inner diameter: 7mm, outer diameter: 18mm (approximately 17-18mm x 7-8mm)
  • Seals the connection between brake fluid reservoir tube and master cylinder
  • Prevents brake fluid leaks that can damage painted surfaces and compromise braking performance
  • Resistant to brake fluid degradation for reliable long-term sealing
  • Direct replacement for VW OEM part number 211611817A and 311611817
  • Two grommets required per vehicle

This grommet is commonly used on Volkswagen Beetle (1967-1971), Bus/Type 2 (1967-1979), Karmann Ghia (1967-1971), Jetta (1980-1984), and other VW models with dual circuit brake systems. Over time, these rubber grommets can degrade due to constant exposure to brake fluid, leading to leaks at the base of the reservoir. Replacing worn grommets during brake system service helps maintain proper brake fluid levels and prevents air from entering the hydraulic system.

It may have taken a little while to ship, but it is definitely the best bang for the buck. I will definitely be looking here again for my needs.

I'm very pleased with my order from Autoplicity. The item I ordered was the cheapest in price compared to other in-store and online merchants. I was provided a tracking number and my shipment arrived on time. I would use Autoplicty again and recommend them to others.

Ordered a DiabloSport tuner for my truck here, as they had the lowest prices on the web with shipping. Order was placed on Saturday and shipped Monday. Although I received my tracking number on Tuesday, I was pleasantly surprised that they had already shipped it out. Nonetheless, my transaction was flawless. I would order from them again with no doubts.

Can't wait for products to come!
